MLS video and unbranded media: a review checklist
Prepare listing media for your MLS with a checklist for accepted links, branding, disclosures, accessibility, and current local rules before submission.
In this guide
An asset that works on your own website may need changes before it belongs in an MLS media field. Obtain the current media rules and submission instructions for the MLS where this listing will appear.
Confirm the accepted delivery method
Check whether the destination accepts a direct upload, a video URL, or a tour page. Verify supported file formats, dimensions, file size, and any host restrictions. Open the proposed URL in a signed-out browser to confirm that an authorized viewer can access it without your account session.
For a share page, inspect the page as well as the video. Its title, navigation, contact information, and surrounding links may matter to the destination’s rules. A video without a logo does not necessarily make its hosting page unbranded.
Review branding in every part of the asset
- Visible agent names, brokerage marks, phone numbers, email addresses, and URLs.
- Intro and closing cards, watermarks, captions, and image overlays.
- Spoken contact information or a call to action in any audio you added.
- Embedded contact forms or links on the destination page.
- The cover image, title, and description shown by the hosting service.
ReeltyPro’s source-photo video path does not automatically establish MLS approval. Use the actual output and the actual share destination in your review; do not rely on a product label as a substitute for your local checklist.
Keep required disclosures present
Removing branding must not accidentally remove a staging disclosure or other required information. Confirm how your MLS wants altered images identified and whether the unmodified original must also be supplied. Review the virtual staging checklist if staged images appear anywhere in the sequence.
Test the listing after submission
Open the listing preview on desktop and phone. Play the entire video, follow the media link, and check the first frame. If the MLS provides a syndication preview, inspect it too; another portal may display the asset differently. Save the approved version and the submitted URL in the listing record.
Recheck when something changes
A price change, status update, replaced photograph, new hosting URL, or revised broker policy can require another review. Keep a dated record of the local instructions you used and ask your broker or MLS support for clarification when a requirement is ambiguous.
This is general educational information. Confirm advertising, licensing, disclosure, and media requirements with your broker and local MLS; seek qualified legal advice for your circumstances.
Put your photos to work. Create your ReeltyPro studio, save your brand details, and prepare a listing from photos you have permission to use. Check current availability and allowances on the pricing page.
