A comparison page is only worth publishing if every number on it can be traced to the other company’s own page on a stated date. We drafted a third and dropped it: the vendor’s pricing page would not serve to an automated reader, and quoting a competitor’s price from memory is how you end up misrepresenting somebody else’s business in writing.
There is also no quality or feature-tick column on either page. We have not benchmarked anyone else’s output, and a table of red crosses next to competitors’ names is an advertisement wearing a comparison’s clothes.
